1st grade homework.

i kind of like homework.

or the idea of it.

or i always liked it at the beginning of the year before it got old.

and worksheets are my jam.

weird?

anyway, now that gray is a first grader, we hear that the homework assignments are going to be happening quite often.

i may be looking forward to it...although, i'm sure that won't last long.

this particular night, his assignment was to read the book he checked out earlier that day.

easy enough.

dusty and i were loving it.

we all snuggled up in bed and listened to gray read to us.

it was fun.

and he's exhausted...look at those eyes :)

lights out.

gray is a 1st grader.

we have a first grader in the house.

and he is very excited about it. 

the following picture does not lead one to believe it, but trust me, this boy likes school.

he just does not like the camera.

he picked out his new backpack himself...

...it might be a little large, but it was his choice :)

and notice his cool keychains, new shoes, his style (one sock up, one sock down), and his lunchbox.

with wearing uniforms, you have to let them incorporate their style in there somehow, right?

gray, you're going to rock first grade, i just know it!
